Why search keeps me interested
Search is the most honest interface a brand has with its audience. People type, or speak, or ask an agent, exactly what they want. Every shift in how that interface works reveals something about how people think, decide, and trust. That is what has held my attention for more than a decade.
What began as curiosity about how Google ranked pages has grown into a much wider interest: how discovery happens at all. Through queries. Through conversations. Through agents that browse on the user’s behalf. Through assistants that remember a previous session. The discipline keeps reinventing itself, and the questions get more interesting as the surfaces multiply.
What I find most compelling right now is the convergence of classical ranking systems with large language models. Both are selecting for the same underlying signal: which page or answer most resolves the user’s real intent.
Background and expertise
My career has spanned enterprise platforms, B2B SaaS, high-growth scale-ups, and senior advisory work alongside global brands. The practitioner work has covered technical SEO, content strategy, international and multi-region markets, e-commerce, and large-scale platform migrations. Today the focus is on AI Search, generative discovery, the consumer behaviour that shapes both, and the measurement frameworks that the new surfaces require.
Across all of it, I am focused on the same question: how to translate these activities into measurable business outcomes. My AI Search work runs in parallel with paid marketing, conversion rate optimisation, and wider measurement explorations. I am equally driven by impact and by the measurability that proves it.
